  [S1] Newspaper Clipping, 3 May 1902, THe Jeffersonian. a telegram received last Monday from Pittsburg, announces the death of Miss Ella A. Bingaman. Miss Bingaman was the eldest daughter of Frederick and Amanda Philips Bingaman. The family were of Chester county stock on both sides. The Bingamans until within a few years resided on the Philips homestead, in Uwchlan township, near Lionville. They removed to Pittsburg to be near their sons, and resided in the East End. Miss Bingaman's death creates a loss which cannot be filled, so essential was she to the family. Of a genial, helpful nature, combined wiht an earnest Christian character, she was truly a home companion, while society was enriched by her mingling in it. One year ago on her way home from a foreign tour she stopped awhile to visit relatives and friends in West CHester and drove out to the old home on the farm. There are hosts of friends in Pittsburg, in Washington, D.C., where she frequently visited the family of Hon. John Dalzell, and in this locality, who will feel keenly her death, which must have been suddent, as no tidings had been received of her illness. Sesides her parents, three brothers and one sister survive her: Joseph Philips Bingaman, prominent in Pittsburg City Government; John Ralston Bingaman, at the head of the P.R.R. at Altoona; Charles F. Bingaman, M.D., one of Pittsburg's prominent physicians and miss Marian Bingaman, at home.
