  [S1] Newspaper Clipping, 8 Oct 1907, Reading Times. Ira B. Boas, on account of whose death, at Phillipsburg, his wife was suddenly called home from a visit to her parents at 1788 Colton street, on Saturday, was dead probably three days before his demise was discovered. Mr. Boas, who was employed at the Ingersoll-Rand drill works, Phillipasburg, was at hoem alone after his wife and two daughters, aged four and six years, respectively, left on the visit in Reading, on Saturday, Sept, 28. He was then in normal death. For several days Mr. Boas had been missed at the works and on Saturday morning representatives of the company made inquiry at the neighbors with a view of learning whuy he had not reported for work for three days. Thomas Houston, aged about 18 years, climbed to the roof of a rear porch at the house and saw the body of Boas lying on a bed in the second story of the house. The Houston boy was then induced to enter the house through a second-story window and open the doors on the first floor. Assistant chief of Police Daniel Hogan was soon on the scene and took charge of the body until the arrival of Coroner John S. Stone, of Stewartsville, who, after securing the services of Dr. F. A. Shimer, issued a certificate of death from acute indigestion complicated with asthma, with which the deceased had suffered for several years. Boas was about 45 years of age and was a native of Reading. the family formerly resided in this city, and, before moving to Phillipsburg, Lived in Easton. Besides his family, he leaves several brothers in Reading and a sister in Allentwon.
