Born in Boyertown, he was the son of the late Addison and Dianna (Dierolf) Mutter. He was a member of the Earl Township Fire Department and of St. Joseph's Hill Lutheran church. He operated a farm at his home. He is survived by his widow; a daughter, Violet, wife of Ernest Schwenk, 616 South Reading avenue, Boyertown; three sons, Ralph Mutter, Eaglesville; Warren Mutter, 727 East Fifth street, Boyertown, and Harry Mutter, st home; seven grandchildren; a sister, Jennie, wife of Warren Kalbach, Reading, and one brother, Charles D. Nutter, Boyertown, RD 2.
