  [S1] Newspaper Clipping, 23 Jul 1928, Daily Local News. Home of Early Ironmaster Goes to Historical Society to be Placed in Good Condition Lancaster, July 22. Windsor Lodge, home of the Jenkins', early Pennsylvania ironmasters, has been given to the Pennsylvania Historical Society by Dr. John Nevin Sayre, of New York, to whom it was bequeathed by the laste Blanche Nevin, several years ago. Miss Nevin received the property in 1899 from Catherine R. Cummins. The mansion house, during Miss Nevin's ownership, became one of the showplaces of this section and it held valuable pieces of art collected from many countries. It is understood that hte society will restore the house and grounds, which are in a run down condition at present. The orignal mansion house was erected in 1742 by Richard Branson, who obtained a patent. He later was bought out by David Jenkins, first of the ironmaster, who operated the forge until 1797, other generations of the family following in his footsteps.
